The Russian Investment Forum, a traditional platform for presenting Russia’s investment and economic potential, was held on February 15th and 16th in Sochi. On February 15th the exhibition hall of the Forum hosted the festive opening ceremony for the NGO Laboratory. This new and innovative social platform from Roscongress Foundation, which organized the Forum, has the basic purpose of promoting and supporting the development of systematic philanthropy in Russia and consolidating the non-profit sector at an international level. In addition, there were two specialized discussions attended by experts from the charitable community.
PERI Foundation was an active participant in the Forum. Executive director Dmitry Tomchuk appeared at the round table entitled ‘The Charity of Tomorrow: Trends That Are Changing the Social Domain’ to tell about the construction in Makhachkala of PERImeter, a workshop space for innovation by talented, proactive and creative young people that offers them varied opportunities for ongoing education in fields such as artificial intelligence and big data, robotics, the internet of things, blockchain, VR/AR/MR, and quantum technologies.
The booth for the NGO Lab also featured the ‘Objective Philanthropy’ photo exhibition from the Donors Forum, which had previously been shown at the World Economic Forum in Davos. PERI Foundation’s photo ‘Urbanfest in Derbent—Grandmothers at the Shore’ held a place of honour in the display. It depicted the very first Urbanfest architecture festival held in Derbent in July 2017.
