From May 24 to May 26 the International economic forum took place in St. Petersburg, for the last twenty years being the leading world platform for communication of representatives of the business community and discussion of the key economic problems facing Russia, emerging markets, and the world in general. The large-scale inclusion of the social agenda in the program of the Forum and the launch of the Foundation's social platform Roskongress became an important innovation of SPIEF-2018. The executive director of the foundation Dmitry Tomchuk and the program director Vera Yakovleva took an active part in the work of the forum in the framework of the NPO LAB platform.
At the Culture.New Technologies session Dmitry and Vera talked about the successful experience of the foundation in the implementation of the Digital Heritage program. This program is designed to keep especially valuable cultural and historical objects by means of modern technologies and to make these objects accessible, to promote monitoring of their state and restoration, to popularize, and to reproduce, if needed.
"Technologies are actively used at all stages of implementation of our projects – from training our teams in digitization of objects before creation of exhibition displays with the use of VR, AR, 3D-mapping, and we try to make this implementation as efficient as possible", Dmitry Tomchuk noted.
"Along with projects on preservation of objects of cultural heritage, we conduct active work on formation of the expert community for ensuring comprehensive international dialogue, discussion and the solution of the issues related to hi-tech preservation of cultural heritage", Vera added.
